This library boasted a large collection of texts and manuscripts than any other library in the world during those times. The biggest attraction in this city was the Light House of Alexandria which became a very useful one for the returning sailors. Another notable place was Mouseion a center of research, with laboratories and observatories. A lot of under water excavations are being carried out to find the remnants of this old city. Renowned persons like Euclid, Eratosthenes were born in this city.
